Majority Forward Foundation is an advocacy group established in March 2025 as the charitable sister group to Majority Forward, a Democratic Party-aligned “dark money” group associated with the Senate Majority PAC. 1 The foundation was established by Ezra Reese of the Elias Law Group and shares office space with Majority Forward and other Democratic groups. 2 3 4
Background
On March 17, 2025, the Majority Forward Foundation was incorporated as a charitable nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C. 2
The organization’s principal address is listed as 1032 15th Street NW, Suite 247, 2 the same address as Majority Forward 5 and several Democratic Party-affiliated organizations including Welcome PAC, 6 the Black Economic Alliance, 7 House Majority PAC, 8 Duty and Honor, the Right to Vote Foundation, and 53 Peaks. 5
The incorporator was listed as Ezra Reese, 2 who is listed as a founding officer of 141 organizations on Bizapedia. 9 Reese is the political law chair for the Elias Law Group, a D.C.-based law firm created by Democratic Party attorney Marc Elias that focuses on “electing Democrats, supporting voting rights, and helping progressives make change.” 4 3
Reese previously worked for almost 20 years at Perkins Coie, a Seattle-based law firm whose clients included America Votes, Americans United for Change (AUFC), NARAL Pro-Choice America, Americans for Responsible Solutions (ARS), Senate Majority PAC, House Majority PAC, Media Matters for America, American Bridge 21st Century, Enroll America, General Majority PAC, Correct the Record, the NextGen Climate Action Committee, NextGen Climate Action, UltraViolet, Voto Latino, the Democratic Leadership Council, and EMILY’s List. As of late March 2025, the Majority Forward Foundation had not made any public statements. Lachlan Markay posted on X (formerly Twitter) about the organization the day after its founding, writing, “It appears Majority Forward, the dark money group that finances Dems’ top senate super PAC, is forming a 501c3 nonprofit affiliate.” 1
Majority Forward
The Majority Forward Foundation is the charitable sister-group of Majority Forward, a “dark money” pro-Democratic group. 1 Majority Forward was founded in 2015 and initially led by Rebecca Lambe, the chief political strategist to former U.S. Senator Harry Reid (D-NV), and then by J.B. Poersch, the former head of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and president of Senate Majority PAC. 12 13
Majority Forward is closely associated with the Senate Majority PAC. The two organizations share office space, costs, and personnel, including Lambe and Poersch. 14 15
During the 2020 election cycle, Majority Forward contributed more than $60 million to Democratic Party-affiliated PACs, including $50 million to the Senate Majority PAC. Majority Forward was also the sole fiscal sponsor of North Star and Let’s Turn Colorado Blue, two PACs supporting Democrats in state-level races in Alaska and Colorado. 16 17 18
Majority Forward has received funding from the Tides Foundation, Tides Advocacy, the NEO Philanthropy Action Fund, the Sixteen Thirty Fund, the Environmental Defense Action Fund, the American Health Care Association, Fair Share, Intercontinental Exchange PAC, the National Education Association, and bankrupt cryptocurrency firm FTX. 19 20 21
