Ezra Reese

Ezra Reese is the Political Law Chair for the Elias Law Group, a DC-based law firm created by American attorney Marc Elias that focuses on, “electing Democrats, supporting voting rights, and helping progressives make change.” 1 2 Reese has also served as counselor and represented several left-of-center organizations, charities, and political committees. 3

Reese previously worked at left-leaning Seattle-based law firm Perkins Coie, first as an Associate from 2003 to 2013, and later as a Partner from 2013 to 2021. It was during this time that Marc Elias was the chair of the firm’s political law group between 2009 to 2021. 4 5 His client work at the firm includes America Votes, Americans United for Change (AUFC), NARAL Pro-Choice America, Americans for Responsible Solutions (ARS), Senate Majority PAC, House Majority PAC, Media Matters for America, American Bridge 21st Century, Enroll America, General Majority PAC, Correct the Record, NextGen Climate Action Committee, NextGen Climate Action, UltraVioletVoto Latino, the Democratic Leadership Council, and EMILY’s List. 6 In August 2021 Reese was one of ten partners and three counsels to leave Perkins Coie with Elais to establish the Elias Law Group. 7

In 2020, Reese served as chief counsel to “Pete for America,” the presidential campaign for Pete Buttigieg during the 2020 presidential elections. 8

From 2002-2003, he served as the Clerk to the Honorable Sandra Lynch, U.S Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. 9 10

According to its 2022 990 form, Ezra Reese is listed as the president and chair of the Impetus Fund, a left-of-center organization formed in 2020 and managed by DC-based consulting firm Arabella Advisors. 11 12
