GetThru displays testimonials from its clients on its homepage including the director of digital organizing for the Biden presidential campaign, Rashida Tlaib’s (D-MI) congressional campaign field director, the field director of net neutrality activist nonprofit Free Press, the distributed director for Andrew Yang’s (D) 2020 presidential campaign, and the political & organizing director for the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party. ⁵

Its other clients have included Color of Change, NextGen America, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the Democratic Party, the 2016 presidential campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), the congressional campaign of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and the 2020 presidential campaign of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). New Georgia Project

According to 2021 tax filings obtained by the Free Beacon, a right-of-center news outlet, GetThru was paid $855,448 for “voter engagement” services by New Georgia Project, a left-of-center voter mobilization and redistricting organization formerly led by Stacey Abrams. ⁷ New Georgia Project, which pursues an agenda of identity politics to attempt to establish a Democratic majority in the state of Georgia, is a fiscally sponsored project of NEO Philanthropy, a powerful liberal funding operation located in New York City. The Free Beacon article reported on a controversy surrounding New Georgia Project’s budget. ⁸

Leadership

Daniel Souweine is the CEO and founder of GetThru. He worked for Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign, running its national texting program during which time he learned about peer-to-peer texting technology. He is the co-founder of Citizen Engagement Lab, a 501(c)(4) organization that incubates left-of-center groups. ⁹

As of February 2023, Nathan Olson was the head of people and operations. He was the executive director of the Presidential Innovation Fellows program and worked for Obama for America, President Barack Obama’s presidential reelection campaign. ¹⁰
