WorkMoney Foundation is a left-of-center advocacy organization founded in 2020 to provide educational programs and economic policy advocacy towards improving financial security for Americans. 1 It is a membership organization that provides services and tools for assistance in lowering costs and raising incomes while focusing advocacy on specific topics such as tax credits, public stimulus benefits, and government financial support. 2

Activities

WorkMoney provides products, services, and benefits to members, along with practical tips and tools to help Americans “save more and live a better life.” Through robust communication, it seeks to serve as a trusted source on matters of personal finance and economic policy. The organization also actively promotes and mobilizes its membership for advocacy campaigns that support economic measures they claim benefit working Americans, such as expanded stimulus checks and tax credits. 3

In 2021, WorkMoney spent over $1 million towards an advocacy campaign to target specific states in order to increase support for the passage of $1,400 COVID-19 relief payments proposed by then-President Joe Biden’s administration. The group also used digital advertisements, grassroots, and membership communication. 4

As of 2025, WorkMoney released a digital site to provide financial support and educational opportunities for low-income communities within the city of Philadelphia. This includes teaching residents how to manage their budgets, change their spending habits on goods such as groceries, and save on pharmaceutical prescriptions. 5

Leadership

Carrie Joy Grimes is the founder as well as both President and CEO of WorkMoney, starting the organization in 2020 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 6
