(See also the Voter Registration Project)
Voting for America was created in 2008 as an affiliate of Project Vote, the now defunct left-of-center organizing group. The organization shared an address with Project Vote, and until 2015 the organization was led by Project Vote president, Michael Slater. [1]
In 2016, Voting for America’s name was changed to the Voter Registration Project, and the organization’s board of directors and leadership was replaced. [2] Only the organization’s nonprofit status and employer identification number remained the same.
