The Run for Something Action Fund (RFS AF) is a political advocacy group that promotes and supports the campaigns of younger left-of-center candidates within the “Millennial” or “Gen-Z” generations running for office at the state and local levels. It is the 501(c)(4) nonprofit affiliate of the Run for Something PAC. 1 In 2022, RFS AF contributed $1.45 million to the Run for Something PAC, its tax-related 527 organization. 2

Run for Something Civics (RFSC) is the charitable partner organization of RFS AF. 3

Funding

The Run for Something Action Fund (RFS AF) is funded by donations from individuals, foundations, and businesses. While RFS AF does not disclose its donors, tax filings show donations from left-of-center groups including the Sixteen Thirty Fund ($5.44 million in 2022), 4 Panorama Global ($1.7 million in 2022), 5 the State Engagement Fund ($1.7 million in 2022), 6 and the North Fund ($1 million in 2022). 7

Staff

Cassandra Gaddo is the chief operating officer of the Run for Something Action Fund (RFS AF). Gaddo previously worked as a consultant to the National School Climate Center (formerly called the Center for Social and Emotional Education), was the executive director of Step Up, and the managing editor and digital media editor of Today’s Chicago Woman magazine. 8

Board of Directors

Amanda Litman is founder, president, and co-executive director of both Run for Something (RFS) and the Run for Something Action Fund (RFS AF). Litman previously worked as email director of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, digital director of the 2014 Florida gubernatorial campaign of former U.S. Representative Charlie Crist (D-FL), deputy email director of Organizing for Action, and an email writer for the Obama 2012 Presidential Campaign. 9

Ross Morales Rocketto is co-executive director of RFS AF and the lead organizer of White Dudes for Harris. Rocketto formerly worked as campaign manager for California state legislator Wendy Carrillo (D), senior digital and technology advisor at For Our Future, and a principal at STG (now Arc Initiatives). Rocketto sits on the boards of the New American Leaders Action Fund and New Media Ventures. 10

Tim Lim is a senior advisor of public affairs at Optimal, the founder and president of Lim Consulting Services, and a partner at the Hooligans Agency. Lim is a former partner at NEWCO Strategies, a co-founder of Ascend PAC, a former partner at Bully Pulpit Interactive, and a former president of Precision Network. Lim is the treasurer of the board of Run for Something and sits on the board of Resilient Democracy. 11

Pedro Torres-Mackie is founder and managing director of Quotidian. Torres-Mackie is the secretary of the board of Run for Something, sits on the boards of Pioneer Works and the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, and is a member of the Economic Club of New York. 12

Guy Cecil is a Democratic political strategist. Cecil was the chief strategist for the Human Rights Campaign Foundation Equality Votes PAC’s 2024 Campaign. Cecil formerly worked as chair of Priorities USA, executive director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and chief of staff to U.S. Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO). Cecil sits on the board of Run for Something. 13

Addisu Demissie is a principal and co-founder of 50+1 Strategies and a senior advisor to Future Forward. Demissie organized the 2013 campaign for U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) and the 2018 campaign for California Governor Gavin Newsom (D), worked as a lead organizer for the 2020 Democratic National Convention, and is a former national political director for Organizing for America. Demissie sits on the boards of Higher Ground Labs, Giffords: Courage to Fight Gun Violence, and Vote Save America. 14

Teddy Goff is a co-founder and managing partner at Precision Strategies. Goff formerly worked as digital director for the Obama 2012 Presidential Campaign, an associate vice president at Blue State Digital, and as director of new media for the Obama 2008 Presidential Campaign. Goff sits on the board of Run for Something. 15

Abby Pucker is the head of strategic initiatives and partnerships at Madison Wells. Pucker formerly worked as an advisor at Catalyte. Pucker sits on the boards of Run for Something and the Marshall Project, and is a former junior board chair of the American Jewish World Service. 16

Jenn Stowe is the executive director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance and a senior advisor for Care in Action. Stowe formerly worked as a deputy executive director at Priorities USA and as a creative project manager at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Stowe sits on the board of the Priorities USA Foundation. 17

Ken Zimmerman is the CEO of Fountain House and a distinguished fellow of the Furman Center at NYU Law School. Zimmerman formerly worked as the director of U.S. programs at the Open Society Foundations, a senior advisor at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the executive director of the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice. 18
