Fiscal Sponsorship
Goodnation’s fiscal sponsorship program operates by taking donations on behalf of advocacy groups for a management fee so that the groups can take advantage of its 501(c)(3) status, making donations to the group tax deductible. Goodnation provides administrative support to ensure tax and other compliance. Its management fees range from 9.5 percent of revenue for organizations with under $1 million in gross receipts to 1.5 percent of revenue, for organizations with over $25 million in gross receipts. 1

Programs
The Trans Justice Funding Project (TJFP) is listed as a fiscally sponsored project of Goodnation. 1 TJFP funds charitable organizations and unincorporated organizations with a budget of less than $250,000 that advocate for transgender issues or offer social and welfare programs for transgender individuals. 4
The Future of Employment and Income Initiative is also listed as a fiscally sponsored project of Goodnation 1 and reports being funded by the Bridge Era Institute. It advocates for regulating artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and their impact on the workforce. 5 1

Rob Hansen is the founder and president of Goodnation. He previously worked as the president of RH Development and as a senior manager for the Robin Hood Foundation. 6

In 2023, Goodnation reported $3.5 million in grants paid, including $8,500 to the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation, $50,000 to the Brennan Center for Justice, $25,000 to the Movement Voter Project, and $64,000 to the National Network of Abortion Funds. It also donated $375,000 to the New Venture Fund projects Civic Engagement Fund, America Votes in Wisconsin Community Resource Hub for Safety and Accountability, and Voter Justice Project. 7
