Reproaction, also known as Reproaction Education Fund, describes itself as a “left-flank culture change organization” that supports abortion access, “racial justice,” and “non-violent direct action.” Reproaction conducts protests against pro-life pregnancy centers, advocates for increased access to abortion pills, and supports “packing” the U.S. Supreme Court by adding additional Democratic-appointed justices. 1 2 3 4

History and Activities
Reproaction is a pro-abortion advocacy organization seeking to increasing abortion access. The organization does this through petition campaigns, “direct action,” activist training, online mobilization, and opposition research. Reproaction seeks to support the pro-abortion movement, condemn pro-life activists, and counteract what it considers stigma against abortion. Reproaction also states that it is “committed to racial justice.” 5 6
Reproaction was founded in 2015 and is an all-virtual organization with full-time staff in California, New York, Texas, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Wisconsin. 6
Reproaction claims to have gathered 235,000 petition signatures, hosted over 30 “direct action events” in 2020, and conducted over 30 events to promote self-managed abortion as safe and effective. Reproaction has also conducted campaigns to promote abortion pills as “magical” and to “normalize abortion with pills,” produced videos to showcase how “racism and sexism go hand in hand,” and used online activism during the COVID-19 pandemic to pressure pro-life groups to stop protests outside of abortion facilities. 3
Reproaction also provides resources for pro-abortion activists, including hosting and updating a database on pro-life crisis-pregnancy centers nationwide and providing other resources on abortion advocacy. 7 8
Additionally, Reproaction has monthly webinars for abortion activists, including webinars on “the criminalization of pregnancy outcomes,” “Understanding the Difference: Emergency Contraceptives and Medication Abortion are Not the Same,” and “New Strategies for Fighting Anti-Abortion Pregnancy Centers.” 8
In its “toolkit” on countering pro-life pregnancy centers, Reporoaction claims pregnancy centers spread disinformation and are a “threat to reproductive health care access.” Reproaction also claims sex education focused on abstinence has “damaging psychological effects on young people.” 2
Other advocacy efforts by Reproaction include demands that Costco, Kroger, and Walmart stock abortion pills; advocacy that major technology companies promote abortion; and a campaign to ban pro-life organizations from being a part of health education. 9
On its social media profiles, Reproaction promotes abortion pills and other pro-abortion content. For example, Reproaction posted a graphic on Instagram stating that “Mifepristone Forever,” referring to the abortion pill, as well as another photo stating that said, “Abortion Pills Are Unstoppable.” On Facebook, Reproaction posted a graphic featuring a quote from George Tiller, a prominent abortionist, saying “Abortion is a matter of survival for women.” 5
In 2023, Reproaction joined a left-of-center coalition including the Alliance for Justice, American Atheists, Color of Change, Demand Justice, Demos, Greenpeace USA, Indivisible, Justice Democrats, the League of Conservation Voters, the March for Our Lives Action Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and the Planned Parenthood Federation of America to support legislation to pack the Supreme Court by adding additional Democratic-appointed justices. 4
People
The president, chief executive officer, and co-founder of Reproaction is Erin Matson. Matson is also on the board of directors for Catholics for Choice, a nominally Catholic pro-abortion organization condemned by the leadership of the Catholic Church, and on the steering committee for the American Society for Emergency Contraception. Matson was previously on the board of directors for the Windcall Institute, the NARAL pro-Choice Virginia Foundation, and the National Organization for Women; was a vice president for the National Organization for Women; and was a fundraising and communications associate for the Center for Economic Progress. 6 10 11
