One America Movement is an inter-religious civic organization that seeks to bring Americans of different races, parties, and religions together to address polarization. As of February 2025, One America Movement claimed to have 2,100 congregations participating in its programming reaching 1.3 million Americans. ¹ The group’s senior leadership have worked in Democratic Party politics and federal administrations.  ^{2 3}

One America Movement partners with local faith leaders to bring people from different faith and voting backgrounds together in order to build relationships. ¹

Leadership

As of 2025, the president and chief executive officer of One America Movement was former Democratic Party campaign staffer Andrew Hanauer. Previously, Hanauer was a member of the board of directors for Bridges of Promise, a campaigns director and research associate for Jubilee USA Network, program director for the Workforce Collaborative, a get-out-the-vote lead in Ohio for the Obama 2008 presidential campaign, a development assistant for the Environmental Defense Fund, the deputy communications director for the New Hampshire gubernatorial campaign of John Lynch (D), and the communications director for the Steve Reifman for Congress campaign in Michigan.  ^{4 2}

As of 2025, the chief operating officer of One America Movement was Chandra DeNap Whetstine. Whetstine was previously the acting director of gender equality and social inclusion for World Vision, and an international relations officer for the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of International Labor Affairs in the Obama administration. ^{4 3}

Financials

According to tax filings, in 2023 One America Movement reported $4,240,029 in revenue, $3,608,399 in expenses, and $2,061,331 in assets. Of its expenses, One America Movement spent $2,393,182 on program services, including $655,943 to bring people within a single geographic region of different faiths and from different parties together into networks; $677,595 to bring leaders of the same faith together to address polarization; $176,209 to train faith and lay leaders with tools to address division; and $555,458 to build relationships with religious institutions and groups. ⁵
