Judicial Confirmations
NWLC published a letter in February 2019 condemning Neomi Rao, President Trump’s nominee for Judge of the Court of Appeals for the D.C. circuit. The letter asserted that Rao abused “her position at OIRA to undermine existing protections and legal rights for women.” NWLC argued that “Rao’s troubling views on women, sexual assault, and affirmative action are a strong indicator that, if confirmed, she would not be fair and impartial, but would use her power as a judge to instill harmful views that would undermine longstanding legal rights and protections.” 1
Besides NWLC, the letter was cosigned by the following organizations:
- End Rape on Campus
- Know Your IX
- 9to5
- Advocates for Youth
