Abortion Access Force (formerly Lady Parts Justice) is a left-of-center abortion advocacy organization. The group was previously a project of the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a 501(c)(4) funding and fiscal sponsorship organization managed by the Washington, D.C.-based consultancy Arabella Advisors; in 2016, it acquired nonprofit status. Abortion Access Force is the 501(c)(4) lobbying arm of the 501(c)(3) affiliate Abortion Access Front, a project of NEO Philanthropy.
In May 2019, it was announced that Lady Parts Justice would be renamed Abortion Access Force. The change was made in order to be more “inclusive” toward transgender activists.
According to the left-leaning Daily Action, Lady Parts Justice was initially incubated by Creative Majority, a 501(c)(4) fiscal sponsorship group. It isn’t known when the group was transferred to the Sixteen Thirty Fund.
Abortion Access Force was reportedly the brainchild of Lizz Winstead, co-creator and former head writer of the Daily Show, who wanted to create “a comedy war room” that produces content designed to “normalize abortion, celebrate those who provide it, and fight like hell to keep it accessible and legal.”
