    As of 2026, in addition to Paulson and Geithner other members of the group included Biden administration Director of the National Economic Council Brian Deese, Biden administration Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Paul Ryan (R-WI), former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), former U.S. Senator Joseph Manchin III (I-WV), former U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH), and Microsoft president Brad Smith.  1

    Other members of AESG have included representatives from the Business Roundtable, Stanford University, MIT, Harvard University, the Council on Foreign Relations, BlackRock, the Center for American Progress, Columbia University Business School, Bank of America, the Wall Street Journal, Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, Dartmouth College, Yale, University of Notre Dame, Google, and the American Enterprise Institute. 1

    Funding

    In 2025, the Aspen Economic Strategy Group was funded by Allstate, Bank of America, BlackRock, Dalio Philanthropies, Google, Nasdaq, the Pritzker Traubert Foundation, the Whitman Harsh Foundation, and others. 2
