Mass Alliance is a coalition of left-of-center organizations and advocacy groups that promote the campaigns of Democratic candidates running for state and local offices in Massachusetts. The coalition has previously supported left-of-center policies towards climate change, abortion access, education, housing, healthcare, and economic justice. 1

Funding
Mass Alliance is funded by donations from individuals, foundations, and businesses. While Mass Alliance does not disclose its donors, tax filings confirm donations from the Neighbor to Neighbor Massachusetts Education Fund ($30,818 in 2022), 2 the All Hands on Deck Network ($24,500 in 2022), 3 and Service Employees International Union Local 32BJ ($10,000 in 2023). 4
Leadership
Vanessa Aguirreche Snow is the executive director of Mass Alliance as of 2025, being appointed to the position in 2023. Snow formerly worked as the director of policy and organizing at MassVOTE, a community organizer for SEIU Local 509, and a council organizer at the Greater Boston Labor Council. 5
Jordan Berg Powers was the previous executive director of Mass Alliance, working in the role between 2016 and 2023. As of 2025, Powers is a Skills Trainer for the National Democratic Training Committee as well as a consultant for Berg Powers Consulting. Powers formerly worked as an outreach coordinator for Free Press. Powers sits on the boards of JOIN for Justice, the Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action, and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston. 6
