The Republican Women for Progress PAC (RWFP PAC) is a super PAC created by the nonprofit Republican Women for Progress in 2018 to supports Democratic candidates running for Congress. The stated goal of RWFP PAC goal is to support and highlight Republican women that spoke out against other members of the Republican party as well as supporting political candidates who claimed would hold then-President Donald Trump accountable. 1

Activities

In 2018, RWFP PAC endorsed eleven Democratic candidates running for the U.S. House of Representatives. RWFP PAC ran digital ads supporting these candidates and featuring views of local Republican women voters endorsing them while opposing incumbents, including then-President Trump, who it claimed were hurting the U.S. and its democratic institutions. 2

In 2018, RWFP PAC endorsed and provided financial support to these Democratic candidates running for U.S. House: Harley Rouda (D-CA), $150,000; Amy McGrath (D-KY), $125,000; Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), $124,000; Xochitl Torres Small (D-NM), $123,000; Haley Stevens (D-MI), $94,000; Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ), $88,000; Katie Hill (D-CA), $82,000; Angie Craig (D-MN), $57,000; Ammar Campa-Najjar (D-CA), $34,000; Abby Finkenauer (D-IA), $5,000; and Abigail Spanberger (D-VA), $5,000. 3

Funding

According to filings with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), the Republican Women for Progress PAC was funded by $1 million in contributions made in 2018 by three individuals: Reid Hoffman ($400,000), founder of LinkedIn; Daniel V. Tierney ($400,000), president of Wicklow Capital; and Kathryn Murdoch ($200,000), president of the Quadrivium Foundation. 4
