Put New Hampshire First was a political action committee (PAC) aligned with the Democratic Party that campaigned in the 2016 gubernatorial race in that state. It raised over 4.6 million that year in a failed effort to oppose the Republican candidate, Chris Sununu. 1
Background
Put New Hampshire First spent on behalf of then-Executive Councilor Colin Van Ostern (D-NH) during his 2016 gubernatorial campaign against then-Executive Councilor and eventual winner Chris Sununu (R-NH). 2
Donors
The majority of Put New Hampshire First revenue, about $3.7 million, was donated by the Democratic Governors Association, a political committee that supports the election of Democratic gubernatorial candidates. 3
Other large donors included the National Education Association (NEA), Service Employees International Union (SEIU), and American Federation of State Council and Municipal Employees government-worker labor unions and Jobs and Opportunity PAC. 4
