Mississippi Safety and Justice, not to be confused with the similarly named Mississippi Justice & Public Safety PAC, is a now-defunct left-of-center PAC created in 2015 to fund the successful campaign of Democrat Scott Colom for Sixteenth Circuit Court District Attorney. The organization is a defunct Mississippi branch of the vast “Safety and Justice” network, a project of left-leaning billionaire George Soros that used a network of similarly named state-level PACs to finance the campaigns of progressive Democratic candidates for district attorney in more than a dozen of America’s cities.

Funding

During 2015, Mississippi Safety and Justice received $926,500 in contributions directly from George Soros, 100 percent of the organization’s funding.1

Political Activities

Mississippi campaign finance records reveal that during the 2015 election, the organization paid left-leaning campaign communications firm Berlin Rosen roughly $716,000 for campaign ads, communications, and polling that supported Colom’s campaign.2
