Louisiana Safety & Justice is a left-of-center PAC created to support Democrat James Stewart’s successful 2015 campaign for Caddo Parish District Attorney. The organization served as the Louisiana branch of the vast “Safety and Justice” network, a project of left-leaning billionaire George Soros which has used a network of similarly named state-level PACs to finance the campaigns of progressive Democratic candidates for district attorney in more than a dozen of America’s cities.

Funding

During 2015, the organization’s year of operation, Louisiana Safety & Justice was entirely funded by George Soros, who contributed a total of $930,600.¹

Political Activities

Louisiana Safety & Justice was the source of substantial funding for advertising, polling, and research that benefitted Democrat James Stewart’s successful 2015 campaign for Caddo Parish District Attorney, paying hundreds of thousands to Berlin Rosen, a left-leaning campaign communications firm.²

Leadership

Louisiana Safety and Justice is led by chairman Lee Jeter, who also works as the Chair of the Bossier Parish Democratic Party Executive Committee.^{3 4}
