The Housing Trust Silicon Valley (HTSV) is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) working across the 14 counties of the San Francisco Bay Area in California. 1 The Housing Trust Silicon Valley uses “transformative housing finance” to create “equitable and affordable communities,” working with both public and private partners. The Housing Trust Silicon Valley began with grant money from the Santa Clara County, as well funding from Intel, Adobe, Cisco Systems, Applied Materials, Solectron, and KB Homes. 2
Activities
Since its creation in 2000, the Housing Trust Silicon Valley has invested over $615 million towards creating and preserving over 27,000 affordable homes across the San Francisco Bay Area region. 2 Projects include homeownership assistance and financing for mission-aligned for-profit housing developers. 3 In addition, the Housing Trust Silicon Valley provides lender and realtor resources. Lenders can receive training on how their companies can participate in Housing Trust Silicon Valley’s homeownership assistance programs. 4

In 2023, the Housing Trust Silicon Valley reported $23,027,841in revenues and $8,717,922 in expenses, with $244,644,739 in total assets and 40 employees. 5
In 2022, the Housing Trust Silicon Valley reported $500,000 total from two separate donations from the Silicon Valley Bank Foundation to “support closing the gap on affordable housing in the area.” 5
In 2023, the Housing Trust Silicon Valley reported a $250,360 donation from the American Online Giving Foundation. 5 The American Online Giving Foundation is largely a pass-through organization that handles donor-advised funds (DAF). 6
In 2024, the Housing Trust Silicon Valley received a large $30 million donation from MacKenzie Scott, ex-wife of Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos, as part of the more than $17 billion she has donated to left-of-center causes since 2020. 7 The gift, the largest the Housing Trust Silicon Valley has ever received from an individual, came completely unrestricted. 8 9
People
Noni Ramos is CEO of the Housing Trust Silicon Valley. Prior to joining the Housing Trust Silicon Valley, Ramos was at Enterprise Community Loan Fund as senior vice president and chief operating officer. 1 She currently serves as board chair of the California Coalition for Community Investment (CCCI), an advocacy group for state polices that expand access to capital and resources to build “equitable and inclusive communities throughout California.” 10
