Christian Ettinger is a political and philanthropic strategist for Climate Voters, a left-of-center environmentalist organization which encourages voters to elect candidates who support environmentalist policy. 1
Ettinger claims to have collaborated with more than 100 nonprofit organizations on issues including civic engagement, environmentalism, and abortion. 1 He has focused on climate politics, broadband policy, and water conservation in California. 2
Ettinger has worked with left-of-center climate activists in Washington, Oregon, Massachusetts, and Vermont to push carbon-pricing initiatives, which aim to charge a consumption tax for the use of most conventional energy sources. 2
In 2015, Ettinger began working as a strategist for the San Francisco-based Climate Voters, pushing digital media campaigns. 2
He has also been a consultant with the left-of-center Educational Foundation of America since 2002, promoting campaigns on environmentalism, abortion, voting, and security policy. 2 Ettinger has also been the chairman of the Sustainable Population Committee with the Educational Foundation of America. 3
Ettinger was also an analyst to the California Public Utilities Commission from 2013 through 2017. 2 He was also a board member at the New York-based environmentalist organization Inform from 2005 to 2015. 3

Ettinger began his career in media, working as a reporter, editor, and publisher. Ettinger initially worked for the Ross Valley Reporter, a local news organization. 3 From 1996 to 1999, he was editor and publisher of Cups Magazine. 2 In 2000, Ettinger became editor of ThePosition.com, a position which he held until 2001. 2
Ettinger also worked in documentary film, helping to produce two Academy Award-nominated documentaries: Murderball and The Weather Underground. 3
