The Voter Turnout Fund is a registered trade name and project of the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a left-of-center lobbying and advocacy organization, which, along with its 501(c)(3) counterpart, the New Venture Fund, is administered by Arabella Advisors, a left-of-center Washington, D.C. based philanthropic consulting firm. 1
Background
The Voter Turnout Fund’s parent organization is the Sixteen Thirty Fund, which registered “Voter Turnout Fund” as a trade name. 1 The Sixteen Thirty Fund is a Democratic Party-aligned 501(c)(4) lobbying and electoral advocacy group that has been criticized for employing “dark money” in federal elections. 2
Little information is publicly known about the Voter Turnout Fund’s operations as of August 2025. According to the right-of-center group Americans for Public Trust, Voter Turnout Fund was an inactive trade name of Sixteen Thirty Fund as of 2025. 1
Funding
In its 2023 filing with the Internal Revenue Service, the Crankstart Foundation, the family foundation of Sequoia Capital partner Michael Moritz, noted that on September 29 of that year it made a $3 million grant to the Sixteen Thirty Fund to support the “education-only” activity of the Voter Turnout Fund. 3 4
