Solidarity Pledge is a coalition of activist groups and grassroots organizations which promote left-of-center immigration policies while advocating against policies set by the Second Trump Administration. The group is primarily comprised of several left-of-center groups including United We Dream, Make the Road States, the Action Lab, and CASA. According to its website, the coalition pushes for allied activists to sign a pledge to “put my body on the line in nonviolent strategic actions against Trump’s mass deportations of children, immigrant youth, and workers.” 1
Background
The Solidarity Pledge was launched in January 2025 by a coalition of activist groups and grassroots organizations, primarily including United We Dream, Make the Road States, the Action Lab, and CASA. The organization was created to promote left-of-center immigration policies while advocating against the second Trump administration. According to its website, the coalition pushes for allied activists to sign a pledge to “put my body on the line in nonviolent strategic actions against Trump’s mass deportations of children, immigrant youth, and workers.” 1 Another pledge on the website reads, “I pledge to be one of 20,000 people who, inspired by the civil rights movement, will put my body on the line in nonviolent strategic actions against Trump’s mass deportations of children, immigrant youth, and workers.” 1 It further states, “I pledge to challenge Trump’s anti-immigrant attacks by working to create welcoming and loving communities, speaking up in defense of our neighbors, and supporting families with information and mutual aid.” 1 2
Activities
At the time of its formation in January 2025, the primary partner organizations to make up Solidarity Pledge included United We Dream, Make the Road States, the Action Lab, and CASA. Shortly after the organization’s launch, United We Dream organized and released a letter signed by over 80 nonprofit and advocacy groups calling on state and local officials to refuse cooperation with federal immigration enforcement such as blocking access by Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE). Titled “Trump’s Terror is Coming: An Attack on Immigrants is an Attack on Us All,” the letter stated “It is no exaggeration to say Trump’s anti-immigrant assaults will cost lives. The Trump administration is prepared to act with impunity—starting on day one—to carry out its mass detention and deportation agenda with zero consideration for the devastating consequences this will have on our country’s communities, families, workforces, economy and more.” 3 3
Solidarity Pledge was identified as one of hundreds of groups affiliated with the 2025 “No Kings” protests organized in opposition to the agenda of the second Trump administration. 4
