Momtivist (MV) is an activist network that engages families to pursue activism and civic engagement in the pursuit of left-of-center political goals. [1]

MV creates and promotes kid-friendly events, books, and articles that advances left-progressive policy goals and organizes “Progress Playdates” to encourage activism in promotion of those views and produces voter guide summaries for local and statewide races and issues. [2]

Activities

Momtivist produces a compendium of Los Angeles, California area left-of-center voting guides that summarizes the consensus on ballot measures and candidates for state-wide and local races. Guides that are reviewed include those produced by Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the largest socialist organization in the United States; LA Area Progressive Voter Guide, produced by an organization that calls for nationalization of elections; Action Cali; Knock LA, a left-wing online news organization; and LA Forward Action. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]

On Facebook, the group promotes its Voter Guide Review and activism in favor of gun control and promotion of abortion pills. [9]

MV and Feminists in Action-Los Angeles sponsored “Ballots Over Broadway,” a fundraising event for the benefit of DemocraShe and Field Team 6. [10]

MV sponsored a New Year’s Climate Action Fair that provided attendees with a road map of climate actions for 2022. Co-sponsors included Northeast Los Angeles (NELA) Climate Collective, a climate change activist group, Ban Sup, a group supporting the reduction of plastic waste, LA Forward Action, an advocacy group for left-of-center policy, and Hang Out Do Good, a partner of MV. [11] [12] [13] [14] [15] [16]

The organization promoted Gender Nation’s Celebrity Story Hour, a book sale with proceeds going to Gender Nation’s mission to donate LGBT-affirming books to school libraries. [17]

MV is present on Twitter but as of July 2022 had not Tweeted since June 29, 2018. Its most recent post on Instagram as of July 2022 was dated September 25, 2021. [18] [19]

[20] [21] [22] [23]
