SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness, also known as the Collier County Hunger and Homeless Coalition, is a nonprofit organization that provides and coordinates services for the homeless in Collier and Lee Counties in southwest Florida. 1 2 SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness is a combination of two county-level homeless coalitions, the Collier Homeless Coalition and the Lee County Homeless Coalition. 2
SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness receives the majority of its funding from government grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Florida Department of Children and Families. The coalition advocates policies it believes would address the root causes of homelessness and provides emergency shelters and other forms of support for the homeless. 1 3 4

SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness is a homeless advocacy and service organization that raises awareness about and provides support to homeless individuals in Collier and Lee Counties in southwest Florida. 4
SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness is comprised of two county coalitions: the Collier Homeless Coalition and the Lee County Homeless Coalition. The two organizations operate publicly as the “SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness,” although they maintain their tax-exempt status under the name “Collier County Hunger and Homeless Coalition.” 1 2
SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness has four goals: to advocate for policies it argues address the root causes of homelessness, to raise awareness about and create empathy for homeless individuals, to provide emergency shelter and other forms of support to the homeless, and to build a network of local organizations that address homelessness in southwest Florida. 4
People
The executive director of SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness as of 2025 was Michael Overway. At the time, Overway was also the executive director of the Collier County Hunger and Homeless Coalition and the chief executive officer of Continuum Care Consulting. Previously, he was a Homeless Management Information System data administrator for Gulf Coast Partnership and Charlotte County Homeless Coalition, the general manager of 1st Drywall, and the director of procurement for Commercial Construction and Development Corporation. 5 6

As of 2025, members of the Lee County Homeless Coalition, a part of SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness, included After the Rain of SWFL, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, AMI Kids, Angel Works, Beacon of Hope, Brothers and Sisters United, Cancer Alliance of Naples, Cape Coral Caring Center, Community Assisted and Supported Living, Center for Progress and Excellence, Centerstone, Florida Gulf Coast University, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers, Jewish Family and Children’s Service of the Suncoast, Lifeline Family Center, Lutheran Services of Florida, Ricardo J. Barbosa Foundation, and Third Wave Volunteers. 2 7
As of 2025, members of the Collier County Homeless Coalition, a part of SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness, include Collier County, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Florida Department of Children and Families, Arthrex, and Community Foundation of Collier County. 2 7
Financials
According to tax filings, in 2022 SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness reported $1,704,448 in revenues, $1,612,558 in expenses, and $577,876 in assets. Of its expenses, the organization spent $821,527 providing emergency relief and food to homeless people and $601,293 on coordinating homeless programs, including maintaining a homeless management information system database. That year, SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness received nearly 63 percent of its income ($1,070,871) from government grants as well as $633,551 from other gifts, grants, and contributions. The organization also gave a $52,452 grant to the Shelter for Abused Women and Children in Naples, Florida, and a $494,150 grant to the United Way of Collier County and the Keys. 1
