Priests for Life
Priests for Life is a pro-life advocacy organization that seeks to end the practices of abortion and euthanasia by galvanizing clergy to preach, teach, and mobilize their people. Activities
Priests for Life is a pro-life advocacy organization that aims to galvanize the clergy to preach, teach, and mobilize their people to work to end the practices of abortion and euthanasia. Priests for Life also convenes a larger family of ministries to extend its outreach, including Deacons for Life, Seminarians for Life, and Missionaries of the Gospel of Life. Its program Rachel’s Vineyard offers weekend retreats for women and men who have lost children to abortion. 1
Gospel of Life Ministries is an outreach program of Priests for Life that supports efforts to expose the graphic reality of abortion to the public. Gospel of Life Ministries distributes image galleries of aborted babies and fetal development, videos and medical illustrations of abortion procedures, and first-hand descriptions of abortion as advocacy against abortion. Gospel of Life Ministries also provides up-to-date news stories and academic research relevant to the pro-life movement, including evidence of how abortion harms women. 3
Funding
Priests for Life is funded by donations from individuals, foundations, and businesses. While Priests for Life does not disclose its donors, tax filings confirm donations from the William M. Yarbrough Foundation ($150,000 in 2022), 4 the Fidelity Investments Charitable Gift Fund ($130, 862 in 2022), 5 and the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan ($100,000 in 2022). 6
Leadership
As of 2025, Frank A. Pavone was the national director of Priests for Life, the president of the National Pro-Life Religious Council, and the national pastoral director of both Rachel’s Vineyard Ministries and the Silent No More Awareness Campaign. 7 Pavone was dismissed from the Catholic priesthood by the Vatican in November 2022 for “persistent disobedience” and “blasphemous communications on social media.” 8
As of 2025, Janet A. Morana was the executive director of Priests for Life and a co-founder of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign. Morana formerly sat on the board of the Staten Island Right to Life Committee and the advisory committees of Catholics for Bush and Catholics for Trump. 9
Other members of the board include Anthony DeStefano, Denis Wilde, Alveda C. King, Paul Joseph A. Magahis, Michael Nierva, and Roger Baler. 10
