Focus on the Family (FOTF) is an international ministry group that claims to promote Christian values and beliefs by providing resources and education for communities in line with said values. 1

Focus on the Family (FOTF) is an international ministry group that claims to promote traditional Christian values and beliefs by providing resources and education for communities in line with said values. FOTF provides media programs such as broadcasts, podcasts, telecasts, films, websites, and radio dramas. 3

FOTF provides pro-life resources for women who may be considering abortion, including the websites Wait No More, which provides information about adoption and foster families, and SeeLife, which provides information about pregnancy centers. FOFT’s website also includes articles about other life-related issues like miscarriage, end of life care, and assisted suicide. 4

FOTF’s website contains a “Family Q&A” page, with questions answered by licensed counselors on issues such as life changes, sexuality, parenting, and relationship dynamics. 5

Funding

Focus on the Family is funded by donations from individuals, foundations, and businesses. While FOTF does not disclose its donors, tax filings show donations from the National Christian Charitable Foundation ($8.9 million in 2022), 6 the Servant Foundation ($876,560 in 2022), 7  and the Christian Community Foundation ($859,364 in 2022). 8

According to its 2023 annual report, Focus on the Family received $135,449,619 in revenue and had expenses totaling $136,349,827 for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2023. 9

Leadership

Tricia Esser is the chair of the board of Focus on the Family (FOTF) and the CEO of KTGY Group. Esser sits on the board of the Nightlight Christian Adoption Services. 9

James Dobson is the founder and chairman emeritus of FOTF. 10

Jim Daly is the CEO and president of FOTF as well as the host of its daily radio broadcast. 11

Ruben Mendoza is the president and CEO of Foundation Building Materials and sits on the board of KidWorks. 9

Stephen Quinn is a former chair of the Association of National Advertisers’ Alliance for Family Entertainment and a former executive vice president at Walmart. 9

Tavia Hunt is a co-owner of the Kansas City Chiefs and sits on the board of Council for Life. 9
