While the group claims to be powered by grassroots organizers, it receives funding from major Washington, D.C.-based interest groups, including the Tides Foundation and the Arabella Advisors-managed Sixteen Thirty Fund. 3

New Jersey Organizing Project runs several advocacy campaigns in the areas of environmentalism, healthcare, and voter mobilization. 1
In October 2020, New Jersey Organizing Project endorsed incumbent U.S. Rep. Andy Kim (D-NJ) in his successful campaign to represent New Jersey’s 3rd district. Kim has used New Jersey Organizing Project’s advocacy on the drug overdose crisis to inform his congressional legislation. He has also aligned with the group’s advocacy for the Affordable Care Act and against Medicaid cuts. 2

In 2022, New Jersey Organizing Project reported revenue of $254,097, expenses of $219,581, and assets of $57,610. That year, it spent $70,000 on grants to affiliates, $12,578 on communication, $5,057 on printing, $1,789 on dues and subscriptions, and $40,922 on salaries and wages. 4
