The National School Choice Resource Center (NSCRC) is an advocacy organization that supports access to both public and nonpublic schools for K-12 students. NSCRC aims to inform and empower parents about school choice options for their children. 1

The National School Choice Resource Center is the sister organization to the National School Choice Awareness Foundation, a private nonprofit foundation, and shares its National School Choice Week, Navigate School Choice, and Conoce tus Opciones Escolares (Know Your School Options) programs. 2

Activities

The National School Choice Resource Center shares programs with its sister organization, the National School Choice Awareness Foundation, promoting school choice and awareness of all K-12 education options, ranging from traditional public schools to nontraditional learning environments. These programs include National School Choice Week, Navigate School Choice, and Conoce tus Opciones Escolares. 3

Every January, National School Choice Week (NSCW) aims to raise awareness about school choice by featuring events and activities throughout the U.S. National School Choice Week 2025, which ran from January 26 through February 1, claimed to be the largest celebration of educational opportunity in America, featuring informative events like school fairs and capitol celebrations. 4

Navigate School Choice is a resource that helps parents navigate the K-12 education options available to families. Navigate School Choice provides comprehensive information about school choice policies in each state, aiming to help parents match their children to the right learning environment. 5

Conoce tus Opciones Escolares (Know Your School Options) provides Spanish-speaking families with access to school choice resources, events, and services. 6

Funding

The National School Choice Resource Center’s primary donor is its sister organization, the National School Choice Awareness Foundation, which contributed $250,000 in 2023. 7

Leadership

Andrew Campanella is the chair of the board of the National School Choice Resource Center and the CEO and chair of the board of the National School Choice Awareness Foundation. Campanella formerly worked as the vice president of public affairs for National School Choice Week, national director of communications at the American Federation for Children, and senior director of teacher recruitment and communications at the American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence. 8

Lisa Graham Keegan is the secretary and treasurer of the board of National School Choice Resource Center; the vice chair of the board of NSCAF; principal partner at the Keegan Company, an education policy consulting firm; and a founder of the National Charter Schools Founders Library. Keegan is a former Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives and a former elected Arizona State School Superintendent. Keegan served as education advisor to the late former Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) 2000 and 2008 presidential campaigns. Keegan sits on the boards of Grand Canyon Education, Grand Canyon Education, and 50CAN, and is the national chair of the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility advisory board. 9

Tillie Elvrum is the president of the board of the Colorado Coalition of Cyberschool Families, the school community director for StrongMind, and a co-founder and leader of the Parent Support for Online Learning initiative. Elvrum is a former president of the National Coalition for Public School Options. 10

Virginia Walden Ford is an advocate for parent empowerment who focuses on creating new educational opportunities for children and families. In 2003, Ford led the effort to convince lawmakers to enact the first-ever Opportunity Scholarship Program for low-income children in the U.S. Ford is the subject of the 2019 film Miss Virginia and sits on the advisory board of the Moving Picture Institute. 11

Zaida Hernandez is a spacecraft engineer at the NASA Johnson Space Center and a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education advocate. 12

Lisa Snell is the director of K-12 education policy partnerships at Stand Together. Snell formerly worked as the director of education at the Reason Foundation. 13
