The National School Choice Awareness Foundation (NSCAF) is a private nonprofit foundation that seeks to advance K-12 school choice. Through its charitable programs, NSCAF aims to empower parents to learn about and choose the best education opportunities for their children. 1

The National School Choice Awareness Foundation shares its National School Choice Week, Navigate School Choice, and Conoce tus Opciones Escolares (Know Your School Options) programs with its sister organization, the National School Choice Resource Center, a charitable advocacy organization. 1

Activities

The National School Choice Awareness Foundation’s charitable programs exist to promote school choice and awareness of all K-12 education options, ranging from traditional public schools to nontraditional learning environments. NSCAF’s programs include National School Choice Week, Navigate School Choice, and Conoce tus Opciones Escolares. 2

Every January, National School Choice Week (NSCW) aims to raise awareness about school choice by featuring events and activities throughout the U.S. National School Choice Week 2025 (January 26 to February 1) claimed to be the largest celebration of educational opportunity in America, featuring informative events like school fairs and capitol celebrations. 3

Navigate School Choice is a resource that helps parents navigate the K-12 education options available to families. Navigate School Choice provides comprehensive information about school choice policies in each state, aiming to help parents match their children to the right learning environment. 4

Conoce tus Opciones Escolares (Know Your School Options) provides Spanish-speaking families with access to school choice resources, events, and services. 5

Funding

The National School Choice Awareness Foundation is primarily funded by the Gleason Family Foundation, which contributed over $32.2 million since the Foundation’s establishment in 2022. 6
