The Israeli-American Civic Education Institute (ICEI) provides support to Israeli-American activists in an effort to help them become advocates in their communities against discrimination and anti-Israel sentiment. ICEU provides networking and educational resources to American Pro-Israel advocates to help them better understand Israel and its role within the world. 1 The ICEI’s programs include civic education, advocacy training for pro-Israel veterans, and leadership training for women. ICEI’s online courses include a study comparing the legislative systems of the U.S. and Israel, the basics of the U.S. Constitution, and understanding advocacy within the context of American civic life. 3
The ICEI leads the Israeli-American Civic Life Survey research initiative, intended to gather insights on civic participation among Israeli-Americans. The survey gathers and analyzes data using a quantitative approach to identify barriers to civic participation in order to develop its educational outreach and advocacy training programs. This survey is also intended to provide policymakers and community leaders with actionable data that may affect future initiatives. 4
In 2022, the ICEI was one of 28 organizations that signed a petition to top officials at the Department of State, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Department of Justice requesting that the boycott divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement be monitored, investigated, and prosecuted as necessary. 5 In 2023, ICEI was one of the organizations that endorsed the Zachor Legal Institute’s special brief entitled “The Unseen Threat of The Mapping Project,” intended to provide further evidence that the Mapping Project is a potentially dangerous organization that threatens the security of U.S. assets and institutions. The report claimed that the Mapping Project may be trying to garner support from both the radical right and radical left and that Iranian elements may be involved in the creation and promotion of the Mapping Project. 6
