350 Sonoma is a California-based child organization of 350.org, a left-of-center environmentalist organization that advocates for a complete elimination of conventional energy use.

Activities

To advocate for eliminating conventional energy, 350 Sonoma has protested to ban natural gas drilling using hydraulic fracturing. It also petitioned to shut down the Dakota Access pipeline and to prevent new gas station construction. 123

350 Sonoma has implemented a Zero Waste campaign. The campaign advocates for legislation that bans single-use plastics. Additionally, it has advocated for the Sonoma County Waste Management Agency to award environmentalist groups waste management contracts and to integrate a community compost. 4

350 Sonoma has a legislative committee that monitors California state legislation related to environmental issues to lobby for votes in favor of environmentalism. Additionally, the committee campaigns for individuals to contact their legislators in support of environmental legislation or in opposition of any legislation that potentially allows for conventional energy use. 5
