The Citizens Action Coalition (CAC) Education Fund is the public education arm of Citizens Action Coalition (CAC), a left-of-center environmentalist organization and health care advocacy group based in Indiana. It was formed in 1976, two years after its sister group. The organizations share the same address. 1 2

Besides directly aiding CAC in its advocacy work, the CAC Education Fund operates the Downstream Project, an initiative which seeks to heavily regulate and eventually end industrial agriculture in Indiana. It produces educational materials to turn public perception against farms, and it promotes their replacement with agriculture practices based on environmentalist energy sources. 3

Funding

The Citizens Action Coalition (CAC) Education Fund has received funding from several left-of-center environmentalist organizations and private foundations. These include the Civil Society Institute, the Columbus Foundation, Community Catalyst, the Energy Foundation, Greenpeace, the Lilly Endowment, the McKinney Family Foundation, and the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. 4

Leadership

Kerwin Olson, executive director of Citizens Action Coalition (CAC), also works as the executive director of the CAC Education Fund. 5
