Protect Our Votes is a left-of-center group that focuses on issues related to election security. It primarily researches election results and is connected to other left-of-center groups such as Scrutineers, March for Our Lives, and Democracy Labs. 1 Jennifer Cohn, its primary spokesperson, has worked with various left-of-center organizations such as Young Turks Network 2 and Democracy Labs. 3

Activities

Protect Our Votes researches election results through analyzing data and studying voting machines. 4 It solicits volunteer-acquired photographs and videos of poll tapes from the end of election days and uploads them to its website. 5

Protect Our Vote is a member organization of Scrutineers, 6 a left-of-center election activist organization that plans and works to implement the critical race-theory-influenced concept of “election justice.” 7

People

Jennifer Cohn is the spokesperson of Protect Our Votes. 8 She is a former attorney and writer whose articles about election issues have appeared in various left-leaning publications such as Salon, Young Turks Network, and WhoWhatWhy. 2

In October 2020, Cohn, joined a grassroots coalition, made up of various other left-of-center organizations such as March for Our Lives Michigan, 3 the Michigan chapter of March for Our Lives, 9 the gun control advocacy network founded and fronted by the survivors of the 2018 Parkland, Florida high school mass shooting. 10 This coalition would unite with Democracy Labs, 3 an organization that provides voter file information and polling data to left-of-center politicians and activists. 11 In 2020, the coalition created See Something, Say Something, a web platform that solicited reports of voting irregularities. 3
