Health Workers 4 Palestine (HW4P) is a United Kingdom-based organization that advocates for health-care workers in the Palestinian territories and for increased access to medical care for Palestinians. The group was founded in 2023 by a group of doctors in following the October 7, 2023 Hamas terrorist attack against the State of Israel. HW4P operates the Health Workers 4 Palestine Solidarity Fund, a global mutual aid initiative led by health workers that seeks to invest in a Palestinian-led health-care system in Gaza. HW4P claims to be “the largest health worker-founded and Palestine-focused advocacy group in the UK,” having spread its mission to over 70 cities across the world. 1 2
In 2025, HW4P wrote a letter to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer demanding that he end what it considers “Israel’s genocide” against Palestinians. 3 HW4P has also accused the British Broadcasting Corporation of censoring a pro-Palestinian documentary on the state of health care in the Palestinian territories. 4
Activities
Health Workers 4 Palestine (HW4P) advocates for increased access to medical care for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, mostly through social media advocacy. The group’s Instagram account has amassed nearly 90,000 followers and regularly posts support for the Palestinians and criticisms of the Israeli government. 1 5
In February 2026, HW4P hosted the Seeds for Solidarity gala and fundraising event in London to raise funds for the group’s mission; the event raised approximately $411,000. 6 7
In June 2025, HW4P wrote an open letter to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer urging him and the British government to “to end Israel’s genocide and protect the
Palestinian people.” The letter was signed by nearly 2,500 doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals in support of the Palestinians, and directly called on Prime Minister Starmer, U.K. Foreign Secretary David Lammy, and all members of Parliament to “condemn the cultures of impunity and indifference, and pervasive anti-Palestinian racism, which have functioned to permit this violence and that have enabled atrocities and breaches of international law to escalate over several decades.” 8 3
In May 2025, HW4P accused the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) of censoring a pro-Palestinian documentary, Gaza: Medics Under Fire, a film detailing the state of health care and medical treatment in Gaza and the West Bank. HW4P organized a protest against the BBC in response to the alleged censorship. 4
HW4P also published the Gaza Health Solidarity Declaration, a declaration of healthcare-based rights allegedly owed to Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. Within this document, the group explicitly calls for “[p]olitical sovereignty” for the Palestinians from what it considers the “‘slow-motion genocide’” of Palestinians by the Israeli government. 9
HW4P has also instructed Leigh Day, a leading human rights law firm, to investigate and seek to pursue legal challenges against the United Kingdom’s National Health Service’s decision to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism. HW4P claims the acceptance of the IHRA’s definition of antisemitism punishes health-care workers for criticizing the Israeli government and its military response against Hamas following the October 7, 2023 terrorist attack against Israel. 10
