    Affiliated Groups

There are several groups that advocate for ranked-choice voting that operate under similar names. An organization known as Better Elections MO has attempted to push the voting method in the state’s elections. The ranked choice system would allow voters to vote for multiple candidates, which in the hope of its advocates would overcome the feeling among voters that they are forced to vote for the “lesser of two evils.” The group received a $670,000 grant from a Virginia-based organization called Article IV. 4 8

Another organization called Alaskans for Better Elections pushes for ranked-choice voting in the state of Alaska. It successfully passed a ballot initiative to introduce a ranked-choice voting system to state elections in 2020. 9 10

The political action committee (PAC) Oregonians for Ranked Choice Voting was formerly known as Oregonians for Better Elections. The organization received funding from Unite America PAC and FairVote Action Fund. 11 12 5

Other groups going by similar names that advocate for ranked choice voting include Better Elections Rhode Island and Better Elections for Illinois. 6 7
