    Background

    The White Rose Resistance (WRR) was founded in 2022 by Seth Gruber, the host of The Seth Gruber Show podcast (formerly known as UnAborted with Seth Gruber). According to the website, the group was created following the U.S Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade that year and intended to “prick the collective conscience of the culture,” while claiming “abortion” and the “sexual revolution” as being part of “a proxy war for a much deeper spiritual war.” 1 The WRR is named after a group of German-born Christian students, founded by Hans and Sophie Scholl, which advocated resistance to the Nazi regime during World War II. 1

    Activities

    WRR went on a national tour of 26 churches between August 2022 and May 2023 where Seth Gruber spoke about the history of the abortion industry and Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood. 2

    In 2024, WRR released The 1916 Project, a book and documentary film by Seth Gruber, that allegedly “exposes the hidden history of the secular moral revolution, and the architects of our current culture of death.” 2

    WRR participated in the 2026 March for Life rally in Washington DC.  2

    Financials and Funding

    White Rose Resistance (WWR) is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as Vindex Media. According to its 2024 tax return, it generated $4.89 million in revenues from contributions and grants. 3 It paid out $1.2 million in salaries, other compensation, and employee benefits. Its total expenses were $4.46 million.  4

    Its biggest expense in 2024 was $2.4 million for expanded nationwide outreach, including the release of The 1916 Project on X, launching new state chapters, and organizing large public gatherings, including supporting the March for Life in Washington, D.C.  5

    In 2024, tax filings confirm that WRR received $10,000 each in donations from DonorsTrust, the Greater Houston Community Foundation, and the National Philanthropic Trust. It also received donations from Christian charities like the National Christian Charitable Foundation, the Christian Foundation of America, and Olive Tree Ministries, along with donations from the Raymond James Charitable Endowment Fund. 6

    In 2023, tax filings confirm that WRR received donations from Donor Advised Charitable Giving and Turning Point USA.  6
