Vegan Activist Alliance

Founding and History

The Vegan Activist Alliance was founded in 2020 by left-of-center activist Eloisa W. T., who was already involved in leadership roles within other radical vegan and intersectional activist organizations. ³

The Vegan Activist Alliance holds controversial and even radical views, not only about veganism and animal liberation. The group strongly advocates against “speciesism,” which essentially extends the left-of-center ideology concerning racism and oppression to animals. It calls explicitly for the “abolition” of animal oppression. It characterizes animals as subjects “beyond human persons” who deserve legal rights and considers them to be part of the campaign for “social justice.” ¹

Beyond its desire to abolish the consumption of meat and animal husbandry, the group also supports other intersectional left-of-center priorities, such as anti-racism, anti-imperialism, and a general goal of “liberating” oppressed groups from the status quo. ¹

Projects and Initiatives

The Vegan Activist Alliance supports initiatives related to veganism and wider intersectional priorities. ²

The group rallies support for various pieces of legislation and seeks to rally public support or opposition for food-related bureaucratic rules. The group’s Linktree page mentions numerous different causes both in the U.S. and around the world. Some include support for Palestinian veganism and animal welfare in Gaza, banning commercial octopus farming in the U.S., banning the use of horses, calls for more regulation around endangered species, opposition to whole milk consumption, banning fur production, and technical changes to the periodic federal Farm Bill to undermine animal husbandry and promote veganism through public policy and institutions. ⁴

It also promotes various “anti-colonial” causes regarding the descendants of African slaves in the Americas and Native American tribes. ²

Financials

Vegan Activist Alliance is a fiscally sponsored program of the group A Well Fed World. The parent group does not break down its fiscal sponsorship budget in its tax filing, and as of January 2026 it reported sponsoring 41 domestic and 50 foreign groups. For 2024, it reported $1,412,655 in expenses on fiscal sponsorships, which included $1,313,234 in grants and revenue of $$9,650. ^{5  6}

Leadership

Eloisa W. T. is the founder of the Vegan Activist Alliance, which was established in 2020. She is involved in several other left-of-center vegan-related activist groups, notably working as the executive director of Chilis on Wheels, which provides plant-based food, along with activism education, to low-income communities. She is also the co-director of the Plant Powered Youth Fellowship, which works to implement a vegan diet in schools. She also works as an independent consultant, specializing in “Food, Race, and Colonization,” which argues that Western Civilization is oppressive and is full of systemic inequalities and oppression, especially when it comes to diet and food systems. ³
