Advocacy

The organization provides legal support for various causes. One of the largest focuses for the New York-based organization has been providing funding for paid sick leave mandate campaigns throughout the United States. ² The organization has been involved in promoting paid sick leave mandate ballot initiatives that passed in Massachusetts and New Jersey. ² In 2016, it funded Organizers in the Land of Enchantment to support leave mandates in New Mexico. ³

The organization has also worked with the Center for American Progress Action Fund on strategy summits for paid leave and equal pay regulations. ²

Funding Priorities

The fund was identified as working with the Democracy Alliance in a 2017 report. ¹ The group has provided funding to the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a well connected left-of-center lobbying and advocacy group in the Arabella Advisors network with Democracy Alliance ties. ⁴

The organization’s donation recipients have included $50,000 to A Better Balance, $50,000 to the Center for American Progress Action and $50,000 to the Ultraviolet Action Fund. ²

The group has funded a number of left-environmentalist mobilization groups including the League of Conservation Voters,³ Oil Change USA, and 350 Action, among other groups. ⁵
