The Nevada Housing Coalition is a membership organization that attempts to raise awareness about the need to increase the amount of affordable housing in Nevada, including through legislative advocacy. 1 NHC was founded in 2018 as a collaboration between government officials, private sector organizations, and nonprofits. 5
NHC advocates that the State of Nevada spend $500 million on affordable housing, which it argues would create 2,800 affordable housing units and preserve 1,077 housing units. 6 NHC also operates the ElevateNV Affordable Housing program with a grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco. This program supports organizations in Nevada that seek to expand affordable housing. 2
Other programs of NHC include the Supportive Housing Academy, which creates a forum for funders, developers, and government and housing and service providers to share knowledge on affordable housing, as well as a mentorship program to support capacity building among housing development professionals. 3 4
In 2025, NHC hosted a conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Circa Resort and Casino called “Lights, Camera Housing! Directing Change.” The conference reportedly had 300 registered attendees. Sessions at the conference focused on how to deal with zoning in Nevada, how Nevada’s affordable housing compares with other states, how to build “sustainable communities,” Medicaid support for housing, and how to finance energy efficiency upgrades to housing. 7 8
The executive director of the Nevada Housing Coalition is Maurice Page. Page became the executive director of NHC in October 2023. Previously, he was the founder and owner of Page Strategic Solutions and the executive director of New Genesis. 1 9
The chair of the board of NHC is Lorri Murphy of Ovation Development, and the vice chair is J.D. Klippenstein of the Reno Housing Authority. 1
