The Healthy Voting Project is a project of the left-of-center New Venture Fund in association with the American Public Health Association, Center for Civic Design, Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL), National Association of County and City Health Officials, and We Can Vote. It was created to help people find information on how to vote during the 2020 general election. 1
Overview
The Healthy Voting Project was created by the New Venture Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides grants to left-of-center and progressive-left organizations. 2 Its website guides users to find all information available on how to register to vote and cast ballots in all states and localities. 3
The Healthy Voting Project was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic so voters would not be prevented from voting by fear of COVID-19. It also advocates for health care professionals to encourage voting by mail, using their knowledge of how to stay safe during a pandemic as an authoritative basis for suggesting voting methods that increase voter turnout. 4
