    History and Activities

Elevated Access is a left-of-center nonprofit that provides free, chartered flights for individuals who are seeking abortion or gender-reassignment services. Founded in 2022 in partnership with the Midwest Access Coalition, Elevated Access retains a network of volunteer pilots who will fly prospective patients to receive their desired medical service. From its founding to the end of 2025, Elevated Access reported flying about 3,000 passengers who desired to abort their child or change their sex. 1

Elevated Access advocates for a universal right to abortion and supports the left-of-center principle of “equity.” It claims that most of its clients are ethnic minorities. 5

According to its 2024 annual report, Elevated Access has volunteer pilots in nearly every state, with the highest concentration of pilots in Washington, California, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Illinois, Ohio, and Florida.  4

Those seeking flights from Elevated Access work through the organization’s partner networks. Elevated Access partners then share information with the group, which arranges volunteer flights or uses donations to book commercial flights. Pilots working with Elevated Access are required to neither ask the identities of those travelling on their planes nor the reason for the flight. 2  6

Elevated Access has helped minors access cross-sex hormones with doctors across state lines. 4

Elevated Access also hosts virtual drag shows and has a “quick exit” function on its website to allow users to quickly toggle onto another website and hide from other viewers that the user was seeking abortion or transgender medical services. 4  1
