Three Point Strategies is a left-leaning Black-issues-focused for-profit consulting firm founded in 2015 that as of June 2025 was on an indefinite hiatus. 1 2 It was founded in 2015 by Democratic Party political operative and activist Jessica Byrd, a former chief of staff to Democratic Party politician and activist Stacey Abrams. 1 3

Background

Three Point Strategies, a consulting firm, was founded in 2015 by Democratic Party political operative and activist Jessica Byrd, a former chief of staff to Democratic Party politician and activist Stacey Abrams. According to a statement published on its website, the firm was proudly “Black feminist,” “radical,” and committed to a belief in a world where the bodies of Black individuals are free from being marked as criminal.  1 3

According to a note on the footer of its website, though the firm was formed per Washington, D.C. law as a limited liability company, the firm and its members did not “intend” to form either a general or limited partnership, and its use of the title, “partner,” in its published material was used for industry and marketing reasons. 4

As of June 2025, the website of Three Point Strategies featured a message from its founder, Jessica Byrd, stating that the firm was taking an indefinite hiatus and that she was focused on her “next assignment,” which the message describes as “Black Camp,” an organizing project for aligned left-leaning political operatives and activists. 2

Activities

While Three Point Strategies was active, it offered candidate, campaign, and organizational coaching and support services. The firm worked to facilitate the 2020 Black National Convention, a project of Movement for Black Lives (often stylized as M4BL); the Higher Heights Senior Civic Leadership Fellowship, an educational program for Black-issues activists; the She the People Presidential Forum, a candidate forum at Texas Southern University; Democracy in Color, a campaign led by left-leaning Black-issues activists to influence the Democratic Party; the Pathway Project (in partnership with the Reflective Democracy Campaign), a year-long research project focused on Black issues and questions of civic education and electoral politics; and the Blue Institute, a program founded by Stacey Abrams to train and coach Black-issues activists and aligned campaigns in the southern United States. 5 6
