Human Events is an online conservative magazine and news site founded in 1944 as a weekly print newspaper that became a digital-only publication in 2013. Human Events advocates conservative and right-of-center concepts such as individual freedom and limited government.  ¹

History

Human Events was founded in 1944 as a weekly conservative newspaper by Felix Morley, William Henry Chamberlin, Frank Hanighen, and Henry Regnery. Human Events advocated conservative and right-of-center positions and principles such as self-governance, limited government, and private enterprise. President Ronald Reagan once stated that Human Events was his “favorite newspaper.”  ¹

In 2012, Human Events created an online site for managing its reporting, and by 2013 the media group had transitioned to a fully-digital publication. ¹

In 2022, Human Events’ parent company, the Human Events Media group, acquired the Canadian right-of-center news website The Post Millennial, ² which was founded in 2017 by Ali Taghva, Matthew Azrieli, and Madison Hofmeester. ³

Activities

Human Events writes and publishes news articles on U.S and international news and opinion pieces from its contributing writers and other staff. These include Shea Bradley-Farrell, the president of Counterpoint Institute for Policy, Research, and Education; Christiane Emery, the public relations administrator at Turning Point USA; Adam B. Coleman, founder of Wrong Speak Publishing; Melanie Collette, a policy analyst at the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow; and British far-right influencer Charles Cornish-Dale, who goes by the internet handle “Raw Egg Nationalist.” ^{4 5}

Human Events also produces the podcast Human Events Daily, hosted by its senior editor Jack Posobiec, and the daily email newsletter “Poso Daily Brief.” ⁶

Leadership

Jeff Webb is the publisher and senior news editor of Human Events. Webb is the founder of Varsity Spirit, the founder and president of the International Cheer Union, and the founder of Middle Class Warriors. Web is the author of the book American Restoration-Unshackling the Great Middle Class. ⁷

Jack Posobiec is the senior editor of Human Events. Posobiec formerly worked as a Washington, D.C. correspondent at the One America News Network and an officer at the Office of Naval Intelligence at the Kennedy Irregular Warfare Center. Posobiec is the author of the books Citizens for Trump: The Inside Story of the People’s Movement to Take Back America, 4D Warfare: A Doctrine for a New Generation of Politics, and Antifa: Inside the Black Bloc.  ⁷

Charlie Kirk is a senior content contributor to Human Events, the founder and president of Turning Point USA, and a columnist at Newsweek. Kirk is a former chair of Students for Trump. Kirk is the author of the book The MAGA Doctrine: The Only Ideas that Will Win the Future. ⁸

Libby Emmons is the editor-in-chief of Human Events and The Post Millennial.  Emmons is a senior contributor at The Federalist, and her work has been regularly featured on Real Clear Politics. ⁹

Kenny Cody is the opinion editor for Human Events and the chair of the Cocke County, Tennessee Republican Party. ¹⁰
