Equivolve Consulting is a left-of-center consulting firm focused on promoting the critical race theory-influenced concept of equity. 1 It works extensively with left-of-center organizations including the Annie E. Casey Foundation 2 and the Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation. 2
Background
Equivolve Consulting was founded for the purpose of promoting equity. According to Equivolve, the firm is in the “Unbound Era,” in which it aims “to break the chains, light up the shadows, and unlock the boundless potential of every soul.” Equivolve Consulting aims in their work to “journey from equity to exhilaration, from fairness to freedom, from just existing to joyously thriving.” 3
According to its LinkedIn profile, “Equivolve is a Black-owned social research and strategy firm fueled by equity and driven by our belief in the abundant potential that exists around the world. We see equity as the greatest means by which we achieve a just, inclusive, and vibrant society where the gap between human potential and its full activation no longer exists. Our work is exclusively in service of closing this gap.” 4
One of Equivolve Consulting’s guiding principles is shared ownership, an ideal where “power is not hoarded but shared,” and “success is a shared bounty, celebrated and owned by all.” 3
Services provided by Equivolve Consulting include providing research, project management, and advising philanthropic enterprises; examples of these services include projects promoting the practice of fiscal sponsorship for nonprofits and determining ways of increasing equity in organizational practices. 5 2
