Women Against Violence (WAV)

Women Against Violence (WAV) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Israel that advocates for policies and community outreach towards protecting Palestinian women from violence within the country. 1

Activities

According to the watchdog website NGO Monitor, WAV has previously participated in or organized events that were critical of the state of Israel. In May 2018, the group held a vigil within the country claiming it was against, “the murder of women, against the oppressive and colonialized minorities and against the occupation.” 2 In August 2018, it organized a protest against the adoption of the Jewish Nation State Law, which marked Israel as the, “the national home of the Jewish people,” 3 referring to the law as a, “racist nationality law…[and] apartheid.” 2
