Stand Up 4 America is a left-of-center Democratic aligned fundraising organization that grew out of a local Los Angeles chapter of the PAC Swing Left. It hosts live events consisting of acting, musical performances, magic shows, and stand-up comedy. ¹

Activity

Stand Up 4 America events primarily took place in Los Angeles, California and were hosted at the Satellite, ² a local venue for independent musical acts that has since closed because of the effects of COVID-19. ³

Some of the causes and organizations that the organization raised money for were campaigns such as the election campaign of Dan McCready, ⁴ Democratic nominee for North Carolina’s 9th congressional district in 2018. ⁵

Associated Groups

Stand Up 4 America raised money for Field Team 6, ⁶ a left-of-center get-out-the-vote group that seeks to register more Democratic voters to maintain Democratic control of the U.S Congress. This group is looking to recruit voters in various states such as California, Florida, Arizona, Texas, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. ⁷ Stand Up 4 America is also listed as a national partner of Field Team 6 on Field Team 6’s website. ⁸

Stand Up 4 America supports Swing Left, ⁹ a left-of-center fundraising and voter mobilization political action committee. The PAC provides fundraising services, information concerning specific districts, connections to Swing Left team members, and canvassing opportunities within competitive districts. ¹⁰ Stand Up 4 America supports Swing Left’s Unify or Die campaign, ¹¹ a which collects money from various contributors and donates it Democratic campaigns. ¹² Stand Up 4 America also supported “Get Mitch or Die Trying,” ¹³ a fundraising campaign opposing the reelection of U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in the 2020 Kentucky Senate race. It was led by the progressive group Crooked Media and hosted by progressive left-of-center fundraising platform ActBlue. ¹⁴ The organization supports Vote Forward, ¹⁵ a left-of-center voter registration and mobilization PAC that is aligned with the Democratic Party. ¹⁶
