Reproductive Justice Action Milwaukee (RJA-M) is a pro-abortion activist group that leads protests against abortion restrictions in and around Milwaukee, Wisconsin. RJA-M was founded as an affiliate of the Milwaukee Aliant Against Racist and Political Repression, and has co-sponsored events with Students for a Democratic Society.
Founding and History
Reproductive Justice Action Milwaukee (RJA-M) was founded in July 2022 in response to the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that overturned Roe v. Wade, which had limited state’s powers to regulate or ban abortion.
In August 2022, Reproductive Justice Action Milwaukee led a protest outside of the home of Milwaukee County Supervisor Shawn Rolland. Rolland, a pro-abortion-access member of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors, had voted against a proposal which would have subjected Wisconsin’s abortion restrictions to an advisory ballot referendum.
