Outpost Collective

The Outpost Collective is an anarchist group based in Massachusetts that works in opposition to corporations, police, nonprofits, and the Trump administration. The group provides harm reduction supplies to drug users including needles and tourniquets, coordinates anti-Trump administration rallies and protests in western Massachusetts, and runs social media accounts. The organization describes its members as “regular folks…who are fed up with Trump, this country, and white Christian nationalism.” 1

    Government Policy

    The Outpost Collective states that it opposes the politicians involved with the” Make America Great Again” (MAGA) political movement associated with President Donald Trump and advocates the closure of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), calling these two groups “domestic terrorist organizations.” It opposes the two-party system in the United States, calling for it to be “dismantled, as it does not represent the interests of the people.” 2

    Economic Policy

    The Outpost Collective states that it opposes a capitalist economic system because it “only serves to make billionaires richer while exploiting people and the planet.” 2 It supports tax-funded food, water, and housing programs, stating that these are necessities and private companies should not be allowed to own and profit from them. 2

    Social and Racial Policy

    The Outpost Collective supports LGBT causes, land-back programs for Native Americans, and the abolition of the prison system. The Outpost Collective proposes barring police from attending LGBT rallies because “[LGBT] history is rooted in police brutality,” especially towards Black and poor individuals within the LGBT community.  3

    The Outpost Collective supports a land-back program for Native Americans, stating that the United States was built on stolen land and it rightfully belongs to Indigenous tribes. The Outpost Collective supports the theory that Black people are disproportionately incarcerated in the United States due to racism. It advocates for the abolition of prisons because the group’s members “firmly believe the US prison system is the largest source of slavery on our own soil, and maybe even the world.” 2
