The Coalition on Human Needs Action (CHN Action) is a political advocacy group that works to coordinate the online presence and advocacy movements of the Coalition on Human Needs (CHN).  Its main task is to operate CHN’s website and social media pages and coordinate rallies and petitions. CHN Action is controlled directly by CHN, so its leadership and objectives are the same. ¹

CHN Action was part of the national “Hands Off!” movement and the campaign to defend the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). ² It runs the Voice for Human Needs podcast and blog, and the “Human Needs Watch” blog. ³ It also runs a resource library for the coalition. ⁴

Activities

Hands Off!

Coalition on Human Needs Action advocated for and participated in the “Hands Off!” protests around the United States. The protests were done to oppose the Trump administration cutting government spending and imposing tariffs on foreign countries. CHN Action posted about the protests on its Facebook page on April 3, 2025 writing, “The Trump administration and congress Republicans are […] illegally cutting funds, closing agencies, and trying to silence opponents with dictatorial tactics […] but we will not be silent!” ²
