The American Kratom Association is an advocacy group and former 501(c)(3) that advocates for protecting the right to consume kratom, a plant from the region of Southeast Asia that has been used in herbal medicine and has opioid properties but has been criticized by the FDA. They are focused on supporting the consumers of kratom, educating the public about the benefits of the product, and protecting the naturally occurring resource of kratom.¹
