The Justice Project was founded in the early 2000s 1 to promote policies that would assist criminal defense attorneys and public defendants in criminal cases. 2

The organization supported positions such as increasing use of DNA evidence in criminal cases and ensuring prosecutors share evidence they obtain with defense attorneys. 3 The organization also supported limiting the admissibility of jail-house informant evidence, or “snitch” evidence, as the organization referred to the subject. 4
